The low carbohydrate or low-carb diet has been one of the most influential diet programs of recent years. The demand for other diet products has grown on the back of its success. Just one of the new trends that have been developed is the weight loss patch.

The idea for these adhesive rectangles originated from the nicotine replacement patch that has successfully helped many smokers to quit their habit. Many diets relied on people taking tablets or capsules to encourage a smaller food intake.

green tea1.jpgAsian green tea has been around for thousands of year. It is believed that Asian green tea was discovered by a Asian emperor by accident. It comes from the same plant, Camellia Sinensis, as traditional black tea and oolong tea.

For centuries, Asian medicine has used it to treat headaches, digestive problems, lack of energy, and immune enhancement. The Asian diet green tea is produced by steaming the fresh tea leaves at high temperatures, leaving a significant part of the nutritional enzyme content intact.

Different from the black and oolong tea, the green tea is never fermented. Instead, its leaves bypass the fermenting process and steamed, baked or pan heated. The leaves are rolled and those tightly rolled leaves have long been considered as a sign of quality.

A dietary supplement is a product that is intended to provide enhancement or improvement to your diet that contains vitamins, minerals, amino acids, herbs or other botanicals. It is taken orally as a pill, capsule, or liquid.

There are now thousands of dietary supplements on the market. Most contain vitamins and minerals that supplement the nutrients we can be missing from our regular diets. There are also products that do not contain vitamins or minerals, but other ingredients like botanicals, herbs, enzymes and amino acids.

steak2.jpgAny food that we take into our bodies is composed of macronutrients, micronutrients and water. The macronutrients (macro = large) are protein, fat and carbohydrates; the micronutrients (micro = small) are vitamins, minerals and trace elements.

Macronutrients provide the calories that provide energy for life; micronutrients have no calories but are an essential part of our diet. Without macronutrients we would starve to death, without micronutrients we would die from health deterioration.
