Weight Loss Forever!
Weight Loss Forever Program
By: Alberta McKain
This is not a weight loss forever program which you must respect strictly, because nobody can stick to those for long enough.
Instead, it is a simple way to make weight loss a easy and natural part of the life you already live. You don’t have to give up forever the foods you love or join a gym. It’s about balancing calories in tiny ways that add up to big benefits in a weight loss program. You just adopt some tricks naturally lean people do. Pick the ones you like and stick with them.
Make a Lifestyle Change
Permanent weight loss requires a lifestyle change, not just a diet. Too many people are focused on the immediate results rather than the long term maintenance. Weight loss which will not remain forever, if you don’t have a lifestyle change.
The only way to have sustainable results using a weight loss forever program is to make changes that you can live with from now on. Yo-yo dieting can lead to all types of physical, as well as emotional problems. We have to break this cycle forever. The absolute only way to break it is with the weight loss forever program and lifestyle changes. These changes do not have to be dramatic. This is where most all dieters fail. We all want overnight results, and this is perfectly natural. The problem is that over night results are gained with a price. This price is deprivation, all crash diets involve depriving yourself of one thing or another. This makes us stop the diet and weight loss too.
Focus on Small Changes
Focusing on small changes that can be sustained over time or even forever,is the real way to produce the lasting forever results you are looking for. A few things that can help are drinking water instead of sugary drinks. This does not mean that you can never have a soda again, but by substituting water you will save a couple hundred calories each time. This savings will add up. Try eating a healthy snack while you are cooking dinner, this will curb your appetite.
How to Approach a Weight Loss Forever Program
A good way to lose weight and keep it off forever is to increase your activity level. This increases calorie burn, protects against muscle loss and raises your resting metabolic rate. It keeps your body working efficiently, raises your motivation to lose weight and helps you to maintain a healthier weight loss forever program.
How Greater Activity Helps You to Lose Weight Forever
Let’s say you eat a banana twinkie (approx 150 calories).
* If you jump rope, you can burn off all these calories in about 14 minutes.
* If you walk at 3mph, you can burn off these calories in about 30 minutes.
* In addition, exercise helps to raise your metabolic rate, which makes it easier to lose weight.
How to Get Started on a Weight Loss Forever Program
Decide how much you want to lose and see how many calories a day it will take to make it happen by year’s end. Then, work into your routines however many of these eating tweaks and exercises (it’s important to do both) you need to achieve your goal.
Now read on for the weight loss forever program tricks, respect them and start losing weight.
* Coffee saver. Instead of pouring that 1⁄3 cup of half-and-half (a whopping 105 calories!) into your mug, replace it with the same amount of 2 percent milk. Saves 60 calories
* Better your bagel. You can walk 10,000 steps to justify your 500 calories bagel with cream cheese, or try this: low-fat spreadable cheese like Laughing Cow Light on an English muffin. Saves 300 calories
* Snack smarter. Portion out the daily snacks into pint-size zip bags, or buy single-serving portions. For example, four regular Oreos have 200 calories instead of the 100-calorie snack bag version. Chose the lower fat chips: they have only 75 calories, while the regular ones have 150. Saves 175 calories(over two snacks)
* Casual day payoff. You will burn more calories during the day wearing comfort clothes like jeans or khakis, sport shirts and soft-soled shoes than donning constricting suits, skirts and heels. This is because you walk more, a study found. This will burn 25 calories.
* Switch your soda. Your body doesn’t register calories from liquids the same way it does those from foods, so you won’t get those “stop eating” signals to help you compensate for the overload later on. Change from two glasses of regular soda or fruit juice to diet soda or a flavoured seltzer. Saves 300 calories
* Talk it UP. Every time you grab the phone, stand up and walk around. Heavy people sit on average two and a half hours more per day than thin people. This will burns 50 or more calories.
* Get face time. We use e-mail so much we’ve forgotten what our co-workers look like. Pick a colleague or two who sits farthest from you and deliver ten of those daily messages in person. And go out of your way: Hit a bathroom or a copier on another floor, and take the stairs. Getting more face time will burn 100 calories or more.
* Eat an apple (or more) a day. Apples are packed with fibre and water, so your stomach will want less. Plus, studies have shown that people who eat at least three apples or pears a day lose weight. Try two small apples and two smaller cookies. Eating an apple a day can save 100 calories.
* Climb up! Taking the stairs for a total of just two minutes, five days a week, gives you the same calorie-burning results as a 20-minute walk. Climb up and burn 100-140 calories.
* Fill up with fruit. If you usually like pie, here’s how you can cave to the craving: Sprinkle fresh fruit, some cut-up apple, pear or a handful of cherries, with some splenda or equal, cover and nuke for a minute or so. Tastes just like pie filling and you will save 275 calories.
* Think about your drink. Consider beer or wine instead of a frozen drink: A glass of regular beer has 140 calories and a serving of wine has 126 calories, while a strawberry daiquiri has about 300 and a margarita 340. Ordering beer or wine instead of fancy frozen drinks can save 150-200 calories.

These are great tips, and things I am constantly telling my friends who are looking to lose weight. I’m so tired of people looking for a magical diet or easy fix - it’s hard work to eat right and excercise but there are so many little things you can do to make it more enjoyable.
I’m a big fan of excercise classes/joining a gym. Something about doing it with other people makes me much more motivated and I work out much longer than I would if I just went for a run alone. I also agree with you that you don’t have to CUT OUT things you like, you just have to tweak it to make it fit with your new committment to fitness!
Thanks!
